First thing first

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God,... And all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

A farmer set out to plough with a cart in his new farm in a Middle East rural community. It was his first time. He sets up the horses and plough's harness tool, the farmer placed the harness before the horses and positioned himself in front to control the cart, It never worked out.

He wasted the whole day trying to do something, he visited the farm next door to see things himself, he was amazed at his discovery.

The plough was placed right behind the horses while the farmer was behind the plough's harness, everything worked perfectly, he dashed back to his farm and tried the same method, lo and behold it worked!

Many people around the world behave like the farmer; they never know what would come first in their lives, especially as a student, it will be wrong to play, entertain visitors, attend ceremonies, watch videos or play games when you should be preparing for exams. You must know what to do; how best to get it done and the right time to do it. Try and re-order your priorities and do the right thing at the right time.

Dare to be a Daniel

"But daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat..."(Daniel 1:8)

Daniel was a jewish boy taken captive to babylon when nebuchadnezzar conquered jerusalem. He was a good looking and well cultured youngster. He was given scholarship to study babylonian language and culture in preparation for the king's service, to qualify for the king's service, his name was changed to belteshazzar.

Although his name was changed, daniel remained an israelite in his heart, he refused to conform and compromise with the idolatrous beliefs and practice of the babylonians, Daniel rejected the offer of the king's meat and wine to avoid being defiled.

As a youth how do you respond to temptations, especially when you are away from your parents? Do you love God enough to remain faithful to Him? Can you, like Daniel, resist alcohol, hard drugs, immoral act, examination malpractice, internet fraud, and pornography, among others. Dear youth, whenever you are tempted, be a Daniel, and God will grant you the grace to stand. Resolve to be the Daniel of your time.

Continuous assessments

The school of marriage is one school you never really graduate from. No matter what you've learnt, there is always something new to learn, something new to know about your partner, with marriage, you never really get to exhausting the curriculum and assessment never really stop.

This is so because marriage brings together two people from different social, spiritual, and intellectual backgrounds, and perhaps, emotional maturity and age. It takes time and patience therefore to know each others likes and dislikes, tastes and preferences. It takes grace, tact and wisdom to get the difference blended up to make a harmonious living.

Ordinarily, its not good to engage in wishful thinking, but that is the case where the wishes are unexpressed, where they live only in the mind, when they are expressed they go a long way in solving a lot of problems. They make you know what your partner wants and how to help him or her at any given time.

The views we are trying to express here are meant to help you take a peep into the mind of your partner, the are meant to help you know the likes and dislikes of each other more, of course such knowledge make for a better understanding, appreciation and enduring relationship.

"Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts" (hebrews 3:7,8) God wants to heal your marriage he wants to strengthen the relationship between you and your spouse, but that will depend on what you do with the content of this post you just read, its my earnest prayer that as you take to heart the corrections you read herein and pray for grace to live by them, the Lord will turn things around in your marriage in jesus name.

God is watching you

Many men confess that they are mortal but by their action profess to be immortal and consequently oppress their fellow men, as though there is not an all seeing eye, better not believe that you are standing still,

Most acceptable way of giving

Are you aware that its possible to make a living out of what you get but you can only make a life through what you give, how enriched and blessed your life is depends largely on how generous you are, you can not be a giver until you know the Giver

Lay your treasures above

When jesus warns us not to store up treasures on earth, its not just because wealth might be lost; its because wealth will always be lost. Either it leaves us while we live or we leave it when we die. No excep
